WHY?

This work was not ordered by any particular client. It is my spontaneous reaction to an event which has no parallel in the history of civilisation. The letter 'H' takes the shape of the WTC (World Trade Centre), the white scarf symbolises the innocent victims of this terrible terrorist act. The large black sheet is a scream to a world in darkness. The question is Why?

Vaclav Mekyska is a member of Bienale Brno. He worked as a printer from 1969, followed by study at at the school of Industrial Art in Brno (1979 to 1984), where he also taught for a short period. Since then he worked in theatre publicity and from 1993 mainly as a commercial graphic designer. He works for various clients and has designed many logotipes and corporate identities. Vaclav Mekyska has been working as a professional designer for 30 years and exhibited twice at the Bienale Brno.
